Welcome to JustviaSyl, my (internet) home.
Hi, I’m Sylvia and I’m so happy you’re here! I am a lifestyle blogger from New York. I hold a BA in Psychology and Economics from Syracuse University with an MS in Human Resource Management and Development (concentration in organizational effectiveness and leadership) [in progress] at New York University.
I’ve always had a passion for learning, reading, writing, sharing knowledge, and a love for helping others. We all have a story and a voice, and it’s exciting to have a little corner of the internet to express myself, highlight the importance of curiosity, creativity, and individuality, and connect with others. Over the years, I’ve realized how believing in yourself, accepting yourself, caring for yourself, and loving yourself can change everything. Self-improvement and self-confidence never run out of style.
My goal for this blog is to encourage and motivate myself and others to embrace who we are and live our best lives (and if we’re not happy with where we are, to proactively do something about it). This blog includes a multitude of facets, from personal development (self-care, self-compassion, self-empowerment, self-improvement), to HR + career, to adventures (and spots in New York City to check out), to food & drink, to style inspiration. Of course I’m still learning as I go through my own personal journey, so I welcome you to discuss, learn, grow, and share with me and with one another.
When I’m not blogging, schooling, or working, I enjoy curling up with a good book, journaling and doodling, singing, kickboxing, exploring new places and gaining new perspective and experiences, sipping on bubble tea, and seeing/petting dogs and losing my cool. I also get incredibly animated over planners, stickers, good puns and dad jokes.
I hope that you are able to find something interesting, helpful, or new to take away with you. I welcome you to disagree with me. This is not an attitude, challenge or a dare…I really love hearing what you have to say. If you leave my blog feeling a bit less alone, more inspired, informed, curious, or empowered, then I have done what I have set out to do.
