About & Contact

Welcome to Just via Syl, my (internet) home.

Hi there! My name is Sylvia and I’m from New York. This blog is a place where I share my musings as a daughter, friend, sister, student, lover, a native New Yorker, and a lifelong learner. I’ve always had a passion for reading, writing, and a love for helping others succeed. Over the years, I’ve realized how believing in yourself, accepting yourself, caring for yourself, and loving yourself can change everything. I’m using this platform as a way to reflect on experiences and illustrate the importance of curiosity, creativity, improvement, individuality, and developing genuine, long-lasting connections and relationships to people and places.

My goal for this blog is to encourage and motivate myself and others to live our best lives (and if we’re not happy with where we are, to proactively do something about it). This blog will include a multitude of facets, from personal development (self-care/improvement/love/confidence), to HR/career, to travel (and spots in New York City to check out), to food, to style inspiration. Of course I’m still learning as I go through my own personal journey, so I welcome you to discuss, learn, grow, and share with me and with one another.

When I’m not blogging, schooling, or working, I enjoy reading, singing, kickboxing, exploring new places and gaining new perspective and experiences, sipping on bubble tea, seeing/petting dogs and losing my cool, doodling, and letting my mind wander and write. I also get incredibly excited over planners, stickers, good puns and dad jokes.

I hope that you are able to find something interesting, helpful, or new to take away with you. I welcome you to disagree with me. This is not an attitude, challenge or a dare…I really love hearing what you have to say. If you leave my blog feeling a bit more inspired, informed, curious, or empowered, then I have done what I have set out to do.

Say hi! It would make my day.
